May 2nd
NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
The pastors and representatives of the Ministerium are encouraging people from all churches to dedicate an hour to prayer that day. You can pray wherever you are and for as long as you are able. A few minutes here and a few minutes there will add up to quality time with God. While you’re praying, please be sure to include Harriet Chapel and all members of our family and friends in your prayer.
AWARDS CEREMONY
May 2nd at 11 a.m.
Congratulations to the Catoctin Furnace Historical Society, the recipient of a 2024 Maryland Historical Trust Preservation Award for Outstanding Stewardship of Maryland Historical Trust Easement Property - the Forgeman's House. The Historical Society's careful restoration of the Forgeman’s House showcases its commitment to preserving the property. The house, built in the winter of 1820-21, was likely constructed using enslaved labor. Now it offers overnight stays and exhibits such as “Everyday Treasures” and “Under the Floorboards,” sharing the journey of restoration and discovery.
The award will be presented on site at the Forgeman's House on May 2, at 11:00 am. It will be live-streamed on Facebook. Harriet Chapel docents are offering tours of the church following the awards ceremony.
